General Instructions:
Choose either option below.  Write an essay about 7-8 pages long, more if you include pictures, which you are encouraged to do.
Option One:
Using Shulman's The Betrayal of Work, Kozol's Rachel and her Children and Affluenza and Born Rich
and other videos which we either watched in class  or for which I provided links on the website (see the week of  March 20) Write a reflective essay in which you view the world from the viewpoint of others of different classes from your own.  What does the world look like from the viewpoint of persons like those classes?  It would be a good idea to review the web pages for the weeks in which we put our attention on this, and also to review the books, if you have the time.

Option Two:
Using Kozol's Rachel and her Children and Chuck Collins  et al. Economic Apartheid in America, as well as Class Matters (If you have the time).  Write a paper on the the problems associated with divisions between social classes in America.  You will want to review the weeks we spent with these particular works, (especially the weeks of March 6, March 27,  April 3, and April 10 (you might also find Shulman's book useful).  Remember that one of the things we're looking at here is physical "apartheid". Remember there are links which may be useful.  Such as United for a Fair Economy and Class Action.  Think also of City-Data, which we've used several times this semester.
